Circular Ruins

From November 18 to December 17, 2022, exactly one year after the « Opus Sectile » exhibition, Darmo invites you once again to enter the intimate and dreamlike universe of the aurèce vettier studio during their new exhibition: Circular Ruins.

Extending a form of kinship with the surrealists, aurèce vettier's latest work finds its starting point in dreams. By seeking to transcribe them into images through the use of algorithms, the studio blurs the limits of reality and surprises itself: technology extends human dreams and enriches them. In the space of a year, aurèce vettier has exhibited in prestigious institutions and art fairs, including the Cultural Foundation of Tinos, the Brownstone Foundation, 91530 Le Marais, Asia Now and TEFAF Maastricht. In addition to the luxury houses Gucci and Giambattista Valli, aurèce vettier has collaborated with the interior design firm Gilles & Boissier to create a unique piece of furniture, featuring the secrets of an exceptional savoir-faire and exhibited at the National Archives Museum. Presently sought after by many collectors, curators and foundation directors aurèce vettier federates a passionate public growing with each exhibition. aurèce vettier’s work announces the turning point of the contemporary art scene and makes us glimpse at the beginnings of a large-scale artistic revolution.

Thirty-three oil paintings of identical format (30 x 20 cm) are presented to the public. aurèce vettier revisits here the concept of sacred icons, moving away from traditional symbolic representations. They plunge us into a world where unsuspected forms, places and objects are now revealed. This series echoes the artist’s many existential questions, linked to the perception of the passing of time as well as the intrinsic contrast of eternity in the face of death, which he tries to conquer with the help of precursory tools. This innovative creation process is built around the incessant back and forth between real and digital spaces. He strives to push back the limits of creation in order to go beyond the human frontier of the "comprehensible". The works of aurèce vettier are thus marked by the multiplicity of processes, the entanglement of dimensions and the interconnection of intelligences.
