What is art advisory?
Art advisory is a personalised service designed to help clients navigate the art market with clarity and confidence.
It involves:
-
acquisitions and disposals of artworks
-
collection management for large portfolios
-
curatorial and strategic guidance
-
market, historical and provenance analysis
Art advisory is not about speculation, but about making informed and meaningful acquisitions aligned with personal taste, historical relevance and long-term value.
Gallery programme vs. art advisory
The gallery
Darmo’s contemporary art gallery programme is dedicated to living artists whose practices we actively support and represent. It is intended for clients interested in discovering and acquiring contemporary works within a curated artistic framework.
Art advisory
Art advisory addresses different needs. It is a bespoke service for clients requiring broader expertise, extended collaboration and strategic guidance beyond the gallery programme.
Art advisory may involve:
-
contemporary art outside the gallery roster
-
modern art and 20th-century works
-
secondary market acquisitions and sales
-
long-term collection structuring and management
Our approach
A curated perspective
Darmo works with a rigorous curatorial vision, selecting artworks based on artistic relevance, quality, consistency and trajectory.
Tailored guidance
Each client is advised individually. Recommendations are adapted to personal taste, collection goals, budget and level of experience.
Long-term view
We prioritise coherence, artistic and historical significance, and durability over short-term trends.
Discretion and confidentiality
All discussions and acquisitions are handled with complete discretion.
Areas of expertise

FAQ
Do I need to be an experienced collector to visit?
No. We welcome both first-time buyers and seasoned collectors. The visit is designed to be comfortable, educational, and tailored.
Is there an obligation to buy?
No. Meetings are exploratory.
What budget is appropriate to start collecting?
It depends on the artist, medium, and objectives. We can propose meaningful options across different price ranges, from 1 000 € and up to 6- and 7-digit prices.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. We work with collectors from all around the world, and can ship the art to wherever the collector is based. We organise visits in our Paris showroom, as well as digital viewings.
Do you advise on investment?
We provide acquisition advice with a long-term, quality-focused perspective (artist trajectory, rarity, provenance, condition, market context), without short-term speculation. We are not financial advisors. We assist collectors in making the best-informed decisions to collect historically meaningful art.
