CLAVÉ

1913 - 2005

Antoni Clavé is a Spanish painter, printmaker and sculptor. His work gravitates between several genres, disrupting the established orders: neither figurative nor abstract, yet both at the same time. Pushing the boundaries of the artistic field, he explores the forms of artistic expression. One of the recurring figures in his work is the glove. The glove is the symbol of the meeting of the spectator and the artist in the space of the painting. These work gloves are used by the engraver to protect his hands from the aggression of acids.
